earth 2 tiffany, a Toronto singer-songwriter, released their first EP, get better, on October 3rd of this year. Tiffany Aboagye has been making a name for himself as earth 2 tiffany in the local music scene since 2023. This pseudonym, as he told Street Voices, references how they’re often “spaced out” from reality—a state that influences their songwriting. Aboagye’s artistry is a way for him to express “complex emotions” without external pressures. They were selected for Honey Jam’s 2024 cohort, a Canadian talent program highlighting emerging artists, which previously platformed talent like Nelly Furtado and Jully Black. Through Honey Jam, Aboagye has the opportunity to be part of the next generation of Canadian stars. With more than 15 thousand monthly Spotify listeners and an impressive selection of singles, this alternative folk collection is a welcome addition to the artist’s discography. On get better, Aboagye reflects on the delicate moments of growing up: the aches, pains, and tenderness of moving on from childhood. His debut EP consists of six songs, but sticks with listeners far longer than its twelve-minute runtime.

get better opens with “great machine,” an intricate guitar piece with layered harmonies and a down-to-earth feel. As the singer tells The Aux Magazine, this track “navigates the feelings of internalized misogyny” they faced growing up in their family dynamic. The next song, “sister,” is a standout: 40 seconds of fast fingerpicking as earth 2 tiffany poignantly describes the unconditional love and sacrifice that come with being an older sibling. They explain overtop the intricate melody, “Please, I’m trying not to break/'Cause I know now not to hurt her.” The emotionally rich lyricism continues into their song “the world was big when i was small,” as the singer explores the cruelty of the everyday, singing how they “swallow just to wake up with a lump in [their] lungs.” Throughout the EP, earth 2 tiffany reflects on intimate moments and memories, asking, as on his final track, “does it get better?”

Fans of Searows, Alex G, and Leith Ross’ mellow, introspective sound will similarly enjoy earth 2 tiffany’s debut EP. Listen to get better on Spotify, Apple Music, and other music platforms to support an up-and-coming Toronto-based musician.
